As has already been mentioned further down the page, we spent the weekend in Inverness. The offices were closed on Monday so I decided to take Friday off too. After we’d had an early morning visit from the estate agent and we had sedated the cats for the journey (easier said than done) we were on our way.
We stayed at Andy’s parents house (they are in France) and the cats, although a little wobbly on their feet soon settled in. They like it there and don’t even seem bothered that they can’t get outside at all. Instead, they enjoy watching the world go by from a distance!

We had a very nice weekend just chilling out, reading books and listening to the rain bounce off the roof of the conservatory. It did actually stop raining long enough on Saturday for us to go for a 4 mile walk at Foyers and have lunch on the banks of Loch Ness so that was nice. We took some photos but unfortunately we copied them onto the PC at the house and forgot to take copies with us. We do have this photograph taken at Urquhart Castle though …

It costs almost £10 per person to get any closer to the castle than that so we didn’t bother. They have also built walls and planted lots of bushes which makes it very difficult to get a view any better than that. Scandalous if you ask me …
On Saturday night we went to the Cawdor Tavern for dinner. We had been there the last time we were in Inverness and really liked the place so thought we would give it another go. We were not disappointed!
Typically, the day that we had to spend hours in the car travelling home there was glorious sunshine the whole way down the road only for it to start pouring with rain again a few minutes after we arrived. Despite the weather, the weekend was still really good. It was nice not having to do anything in particular. Didn’t last long though … it was back to work today.
